:: Description of the Building :
Two story building on the side of a hill with Neoclassicist facade. Basement premises and floors have flat ceilings, first, second and third basement have also flat ceilings, or arched into oval passes and into transoms.

:: Architectural and Historical Development :
The building is originally from the second half of the 16th century. The present condition is a result of a reconstruction at the end of the 19th century, when the house was enlarged.

:: History of the House Residents
A record from the second oldest civic market book of Ceský Krumlov informs us that in 1572 „Anna kanclirka", the wife of the Rosenberg chancellor Vaclav Albin z Helfenburka, sold this newly built house to Hans Strohschneider, known in Czech as Rezac. In 1589 Hans Rezac sold this house to a draper named Hans Andres. The surname of the new owner, who lived here until the year 1619, sounded like André. The next owner of the house, Jirí Pitsch, was also a draper. In 1654 the ownership was transferred to Jirí Köpfhamer, after whom Mariana Köpfhamer took over the house. In 1687 the bricklayer Rehor Gutschl resided in the house. His family lived here until 1696. From 1696 - 1758 a bakery trade was conducted in the house. At that time Matyas Springinsfeldt, a baker, resided there. From 1717 Jan Forko also resided there. The house belonged to his family until 1805, at which time Frantisek and Mariana Herberger assumed ownership. In 1836, Ondrej and Anna Zwifelhofer assumed ownership of the house.

Please, make a choice of your route on the river and a boat you fancy to go by. We will either take you and your boat to the starting point of your journey, bringing you also back after reaching the final point of the journey. Or we may make ready boats at an agreed starting point for you, collecting them from the final point of your journey. For the journey, we will provide you with paddles, life jackets, canoeing bags or barrels and the river plan. If you require so, we are able to offer you the guided river tours to be accompanied by a certified guide of the water tourism.
